Together more than 100 years of experience in purchasing controlling

In 2012, four independent controllers joined forces in order to introduce a new concept to the market. During an earlier collaboration, they had become aware of large sums of money being neglected between suppliers and clients. That simply is unacceptable, in the mind of a true-born controller. Their concept, named Recentes, has since proven itself successful. Together, they have more than 100 years of experience in purchasing controlling. By now, the team comprises eight people, who conduct projects in varying combinations.

Klaas is a broadly deployable, all-round financial who began his career in accountancy. Following his SPD Bachelor, he qualified as an accounting consultant and successfully completed training as a registered tax adviser. With 10 years' accountancy experience under his belt, he became an independent corporate adviser in 2006. Besides his project responsibilities within Recentes, he is also responsible for HR and planning. Klaas is also a co-developer of the GRIP package, a powerful tool for the management of purchasing contracts and conditions. He is closely involved in the ongoing development of this software package, which has been created by Recentes in cooperation with its IT partner AXI.

My energy comes from the variety in my work and cooperating in a focused manner to offer solutions and added value to our clients. I enjoy being part of the Recentes team and helping work at further growth of Recentes.

Robert Segaar (1975) began in accountancy at one of the Big Four offices, after graduating from HEAO. During those years, he qualified as an accounting consultant and developed into a financial controller with affinity for analysis of big data. After 10 years' experience in accountancy, Robert broadened his horizon from financial controller to business controller in the retail sector in particular, in 2008. In doing so, he gained experience with companies such as C1000, Bijeen, Jumbo and NS-retail (AH To Go). Robert has been an independent entrepreneur since 2008. Within Recentes, he has worked on complex projects at Wehkamp, Blokker, FrieslandCampina, PartsPoint Group and Plus in recent years.

I love starting a new project. Collecting and mapping out all the data in order to achieve new insights is hugely motivating for me. When we can then go on to exceed the client’s expectations in the course of a project, this gives me a fantastic sense of achievement. Thanks to my experience as an interim professional and my fresh way of looking at things, I find it easy to switch between the different projects. My specialist knowledge of Excel helps me to simplify complex issues.

Jaap (1959) is a financial in heart and soul with an affinity for automation. On graduating from HEAO and AMBI, he held financial positions in the wholesale, construction, industry, IT and retail sectors. Think in terms of companies such as Ballast Nedam, Svedex, Triple P, Brezan, Sheaffer Pen. He became an independent entrepreneur in 2005. Within Recentes, his role is mainly that of project manager in complex, large projects. Jaap is currently working on complex projects at Blokker and Treant Zorggroep. In addition to his commitment to his business activities, Jaap is actively involved in social projects. Beyond Recentes, he enjoys throwing himself into a wide range of projects in the Netherlands and abroad, all with his characteristic drive.

At the hectic start of a new project, I introduce calmness, orderliness, efficiency, a plan. Effective agreements with the client ensure a smooth start and problem-free progress. Cooperative focus gives me energy. A healthy dose of humour keeps things interesting. Painstaking work combines well with great professionalism. The client's wallet is just as important as my own.

Rik de Vries (1984) was born and raised in Friesland where he completed the study controlling at the NHL. His first work experience was at USG Finance professionals where he had various assignments at Ordina, Gemeente Utrecht and Jumbo. He eventually joined Jumbo as a purchasing controller, where he contributed to the purchasing integration of Super de Boer and C1000. During his period at Jumbo, Rik obtained his title of Managerial Controlling via Nyenrode. Rik started as a self-employed person in 2015, where he worked for various international companies such as Kinepolis N.V. and Adama Ltd. The common goal of the assignments was always to make Sales/Purchasing data driven by developing BI tools and setting up the right KPIs.

I am someone who likes a challenge. Keep learning and keep developing yourself is the motto for this. I get my energy from inspiring colleagues or meeting new people. As a consultant I have a strong commercial drive that I like to develop further at Recentes. In my assignments I have always had the motto: no result, no reward. I like to make sure that both Recentes and future business partners see results!

Nick Henriquez

Assistent financial analyst

Nick (1998) worked, after his study in Finance & Control, at Atlant Zorggroep in Beekbergen. He mainly worked on the internal Business Intelligence Tool of this organization. Nick likes to give people new insights by creating interactive dashboards or using his analytical skills. At Recentes, he can use this knowledge and skills for his first assignment: Bunzl.

I think it's important to continuously develop myself. In a world in which there are constant major changes, I want to stay ahead of the game by following the latest developments in the field of finance. I get a lot of energy when I can make a significant contribution within the company where I work. Increasing the profitability of the organization by realizing cost savings and revenue, that's where I get my satisfaction.

Joris Kroeske

During his studies, Joris (1991) executed research projects in various branches. After gaining his Bachelors degree in Business Administration, he gained experience in the Telecom sector. He has been concerned with Finance, Automation and Robotization. For Recentes, Joris executes his first assignment at Blokker in Amsterdam.

I am interested in innovative initiatives! I gladly provide added value based on substantiated results. I think it's interesting to search through data and ultimately come to creative insights. Working as a team gives me energy: I like to realize targets together with a team.

Steven (1996) gained his Bachelor's degree in Business Economics in Zwolle. During his studies he started as an independent entrepreneur and has done several assignments in process optimization, data analysis and scripting. He has also obtained his green belt; he put the theory into practice during his graduation internship at Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland. In the coming period, Steven will be deploying his knowledge and talents at Blokker.

During my studies and independent entrepreneurship I gained experience in data analysis, process optimization and finance. Recentes offers me all these aspects in a 'package deal'. I also learn more about purchasing processes and results: from accounting to negotiations to conditions. A new world has opened up for me!

Manon (1996) completed her HBO study Business Economics in Zwolle. After 2.5 years of work experience in the Finance department of Wehkamp, it's time for a new step. She likes to bring her experience from the 'big world of retail' to Recentes! Manon is a real team player: it gives her an enormous boost to make a valuable contribution together with colleagues. In the coming period, she will be deploying her knowledge and talents at Jan Linders.

During my studies I did my graduation internship at Wehkamp, where I ended up in 'the big world of Retail'. With my diploma in my pocket, I was able to use my knowledge in the Finance department of Wehkamp, a company that is constantly looking for improvement and innovation. One of my tasks was the financial side of supplier conditions. The variety of these conditions was really fascinating! I look forward to applying my knowledge to Recentes.

Ismet (1999) gained his Bachelor's degree Finance & Control at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. He has expanded his expertise with internships and research projects within and outside the accountancy sector. Ismet has gained experience in optimizing the core processes of companies, refining pricing systems and drawing up financing plans for companies. He would like to add this acquired knowledge to the Recentes team. This is possible with his first assignment at the Dutch arm of the Salvation Army: Leger des Heils.

I enjoy working and learning every day. For me, self-development is the key to achieving my goals and realizing my ambitions. Every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow. I always want to be 'the best of myself'. Every assignment is a valuable opportunity: I do my work with enthusiasm and dedication.
